OEM Program
The DataDirect Technologies OEM Program offers independent software vendors (ISVs) an opportunity to create business value by embedding or bundling DataDirect technology in a commercial software product. We offer products for ISVs in the following categories:
- Multi-database connectivity through our industry leading DataDirect Connect family of products for ODBC, JDBC, and ADO.NET, all of which support the leading relational databases (Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, and more)
- Mainframe integration through our DataDirect Shadow line of products, which allow you to extend your product offerings with comprehensive support for web services, real-time events, direct SQL data access and web enablement
- Integrating XML, relational, and legacy data sources via DataDirect XQuery, a powerful implementation of the W3C XQuery Standard that can query XML, relational data, SOAP messages, EDI, or a combination of data sources and DataDirect XML Converters which provide bi-directional conversion for various formats (EDI, flat files, etc) to/from XML.

Why Do More Than 300 Software Vendors Embed DataDirect?

- MetaMatrix found that incorporating DataDirect Technologies' drivers into their products enabled them to we can reduce the time and cost associated with qualifying and supporting native database drivers.
- Hyperion sells business intelligence applications to customers such as Toyota Motor Sales. By embedding DataDirect ODBC drivers, Hyperion was able to provide Toyota with out-of-the-box access to Oracle, Sybase, and SQL Server, from both Windows and UNIX platforms.
- Unisys Global Media found itself spending a lot of time providing data access for its customers. Adding a new database or even upgrading to a new version of the same database created substantial development, integration, and testing work. Offloading data connectivity to a proven vendor like DataDirect has enabled their developers to focus on adding new functionality and has resulted in less time getting their new products and releases done.
- DKSystem's ODBC driver database support matrix was a nightmare. So when it was time to develop a .NET version of their training product suite, they planned ahead by distributing DataDirect ADO.NET providers with their product. Now they can provide customers with out-of-the-box connectivity to multiple databases and their technical support team only has to support the application, not the data connectivity layer.
