DataDirect Shadow for ADO.NET
DataDirect Shadow for ADO.NET is a 100% managed code provider that connects directly to the Shadow server residing in a z/OS environment. Together they enable SQL-based access for .NET applications to data within ADABAS, DB2, IMS/DB, VSAM and others as well as access to business logic from programs running within CICS/TS, IMS/TM and Natural.

Migrating from ODBC or JDBC
Shadow z/Directs uses the same mainframe infrastructure whether your application uses ODBC, ADO.NET or JDBC. This simplifies the effort to migrate from either ODBC or JDBC to ADO.NET while retaining the full Shadow z/Direct capabilities for access to mainframe data sources.
Development Utilities
Shadow Studio, an Eclipsed-based plug-in compatible with Visual Studio, provides a universal view into all mainframe resources. During development, the ADO.NET developer can use, in parallel the Studio to configure mainframe data sources as well as assist with integration debugging by providing comprehensive, robust diagnostic information for all processing between DataDirect Shadow for ADO.NET and the mainframe data source. Once the application is deployed into production, these same facilities can be used by authorized personnel to perform problem diagnosis and resolution.
