Product Release Deprecation Notices

Dear Valued Customer,

DataDirect Technologies’ strategy is to deliver the highest value products with the most up-to-date technology available. As part of this continuing commitment, we are pleased to announce that DataDirect Connect for ADO.NET, Release 3.1 is now available.

DataDirect Technologies’ general policy is to provide support for the current release of our product and the immediately prior release. With each new release, we may drop support for older versions and platforms, particularly those that may no longer be supported by the database vendors themselves. Please review our current support matrix for full details on the database versions and platforms that are currently supported.

As of this time, DataDirect is not eliminating support for any additional DataDirect Connect for ADO.NET product versions. As a reminder, DataDirect announced that DataDirect Connect for .NET, Release 2.1 was no longer supported as of May 2006. Please note that the distinction between the names Connect for .NET and Connect for ADO.NET is cosmetic. DataDirect is continuing to provide support for DataDirect Connect for .NET, Release 2.2 for those customers that are using Microsoft .NET Framework 1.x. If you are using .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.0, we strongly recommend that you plan for an upgrade to our Release 3.1 product. If you are using .NET Framework 1.x, you should continue to use Release 2.2, which will be completely supported until further notice.
